Flying high in aerospace testing... Measurement system from HBM for Cessna
Cessna Aircraft Company, a world-renowned manufacturer of light aircraft and business jets, is using a 1,800-channel MGCplus data acquisition system along with supporting hardware and software from HBM.
The data acquisition system gives Cessna the ability to conduct both static and dynamic testing on airframes, wings and sub-assemblies. With its modular, scalable, computer-controllable signal conditioning technology, the MGCplus is compatible with all types of strain gages, transducers and signals used in aerospace applications.
HBM supports the data acquisition channels with catman® software, which is designed to facilitate MGCplus system configuration and automate testing sequences. Cessna’s system also includes two specially-configured PCs (client and server), licensing and system implementation.
The total HBM solution offers several competitive advantages for Cessna and other aerospace and aviation customers.
MGCplus provides a single platform for both static and dynamic testing, allowing a company to standardize on one measurement solution and not have to purchase or learn to operate equipment from various manufacturers.
The MGCplus provides synchronous data acquisition with individual A / D converters on each channel. Using a 24 Bit A/D converter, it ensures the best possible measurement resolution and range. Continuous interval integration increases the resolution at higher signal to noise ratio.
With over 50 years of experience in strain gage technology, HBM is uniquely equipped to meet the needs of stress analysis and measurement engineers. This expertise gives us adistinct advantage over software-driven data acquisition companies that provide software tools but do not understand the basic measurement mechanics.
